CDSME and Falls Prevention are facing funding reductions: Tell your legislators to INVEST in healthy aging programs!
Every year, chronic illness and falls among older adults cost thousands of lives and millions in health care costs. But funding for proven Chronic Disease Self-Management Education (CDSME) and evidence-based Falls Prevention programs are facing 5% cuts in FY16.
Before Thanksgiving, Congress will decide on FY16 funding levels for these programs. Tell them to protect and invest in these vital services!
Here’s how you can help:
- If you can advocate: Email your Senators and Representative NOWand urge them to reject the proposed cuts and instead, increase investments in these proven programs.
- If you cannot advocate: Read and share details about the cuts and upcoming Congressional process.
- If you know others who can advocate: Please send their email addresses to howard.bedlin@ncoa.org.
The more emails we send to Congress, the better our chances for success. Please share this message widely with other advocates and older adults in your state!
